Aligning Living with Biblical Truth.

Vines and Flowers
  • Confession is admitting what is true—what we believe. Often, our confession of belief does not align with how we live, leading to problems in our lives.

Jesus articulates this reality by saying, “ I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser.” He instructs, “Abide in Me, and I in you. As a branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in Me, and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from Me, you can do nothing.” (John 15:1, 4-5 ESV).

Wandering branches must be realigned with Jesus; likewise, the drifting heart needs to be realigned with Him by staying immersed in His Word. Biblical counseling helps the heart align with biblical truth, enabling it to bloom, flourish, and produce abundant fruit.

While secular counseling may focus on trimming the wilted leaves or tying up drooping stems to make the plant appear healthy and strong, biblical counseling kneels at the roots, working gently to loosen the soil of the heart with God’s Word, uncovering noxious roots that bear the unhealthy branches of sin, such as fear, pride, anger, or misplaced hope.

Biblical counseling explores the roots of the problem under the care of the Master Gardener—God Himself—and offers biblical solutions for aligning living and believing.

With the careful hands of God’s truth in love, biblical counseling aligns living with biblical truth so that you can abide in Jesus and live biblically.

  • Reflect on whether your confession of belief in Jesus aligns with your actions. When you're faced with unexpected trials or temptations, consider how your thoughts, desires, feelings, and actions align with Scripture’s truth.

Sometimes, a mother’s heart is like a summer flower garden exposed to intense heat and a scorching sun. The heat of worry, fear, guilt, anger, shame, and exhaustion throws off the balance of living and believing. But there is hope. Jesus and His Spirit are like a fountain of living water, softening the heart, restoring balance, bringing life-giving hope to its roots.

Every flower must grow through the soil, and biblical counseling trusts in the living water of God’s Spirit to cleanse away the impurities left by sin.

Being a mom involves continually and lovingly planting God’s Word in a child’s heart. However, disciplining children in a God-glorifying way first requires the difficult work of yielding to God’s Word and Spirit, allowing each to discipline your own heart so that living and believing align daily. When living and believing align in your heart, then aligning living and believing in your child’s heart through discipline becomes a God-glorifying act.

Just as planting a flower in unbalanced, nutrient-poor soil won't produce blooms, a life rooted in misapplying God’s Word won't bear the blooming fruit of Christlikeness. Living and believing are the hidden works of God’s Spirit as He works through His Word in a life deeply rooted in accurately applying God’s Word to each temptation, situation, and relationship.

Through counseling and practical application of God’s Word, Biblical counseling sows the seeds of God’s truth, stabilizing the heart's soil by removing hard, rocky, and thorny layers that hinder growth.

Through the caring, gentle confrontation of God’s corrective Word, Biblical counseling helps align your actions and beliefs. It’s a supportive journey, guiding moms like you to become more like Jesus each day as you live biblically.

Testimonials

  • “My biblical counseling experience with Raquel Warren has been very transformative for me, as she has the unique ability to meet me where I am at and prompt resonating questions that challenge me to think deeper biblically. Not only does she challenge me to think more biblically, but she also offers practical guidance for me to practice living out the truths of Scripture. Overall, I have learned so much throughout my time with Raquel and feel that my mind has been truly transformed. I am now much more aware of my thinking patterns and feel equipped with the tools to naturally think biblically in my day-to-day life.”

  • “When I started Biblical Counseling, I felt hopeless and desperate to save my marriage. I was relying on my feelings and emotions instead of trusting God. Through counseling, I have learned that no matter what I am feeling in the moment, I can choose to glorify God. Choosing to be more Christlike has led me to rely on and TRUST God fully, and He has shown me, over and over again, that when I trust Him, He bears the Fruit of the Spirit through me —Galatians 5:22-23. Not only has Biblical Counseling helped me, but my family has also experienced the Fruits of the Spirit by choosing to rely on God alone. I am so grateful.”

  • “When I first started biblical counseling, I was weighed down by anxiety that hurt my relationships and often led to anger outbursts. Through counseling, I’ve learned to rest in the Lord, lean on His Word, and glorify Him better in my daily life, and my relationships have grown so much better. It’s brought me greater peace, freedom, and closeness with Him.”

  • "I’ll be honest — I was one of those people who thought, “I’m good. I’ve been a believer for years, I’m in the Word regularly… I don’t need biblical counseling.” Well, turns out, that was my first clue that I actually did need it. Since beginning my journey with Raquel, the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding that God has poured into my heart and mind have completely shifted the trajectory of my walk with the Lord. I see things from a deeper perspective, and I’m learning how to apply His truth in ways that are transforming me from the inside out. People around me have noticed it too — which is such a mighty gift. I’m now that person who says, “Everyone should do biblical counseling. No, really — everyone.” The things God can do in this kind of intimate, Spirit-led setting are nothing short of life-changing. I'll never be who I was- thankfully. I cannot say enough good things about Raquel and the way she speaks truth in love. Don’t wait another day — you’ll thank yourself (and probably wonder why you didn’t start sooner)."
